Asus Eee Seashell 1005HA
Asus have taken a big leap in portable computing market with their new Eee 1005HA with a ground-breaking 10.5 hours of battery life. In last 2 weeks, 2 other netbooks having batteries lasting more than 9 hours have been launched including the hot favourite of the season- Toshiba Mini NB205.
The 1005HA Seashell has the usual 1.66GHz Intel Atom N280 processor with 1GB of DDR2 memory. The 6-cell Li-ion battery lasts for an amazing 10.5 hours, the longest so far in portable computing market. The Eee PC features 160GB, 5400rpm, 2.5″- SATA II hard drive and an additional 10GB free Eee online storage. The Eee PC has a 10.1-inch LED backlit crystal-clear widescreen WSVGA display supporting up to 1024×600 resolution. The Eee PC supports wireless internet with WLAN 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi adapter. The Eee PC also features fast Bluetooth 2.1 support with EDR technology.
The multimedia features of the Eee PC include a 1.3MP camera that can take decent pictures as well as Hi-Definition Audio Codecs to support Dolby and SRS Surround Sound Speakers that are built-in with the Eee PC. The PC also features a digital array microphone.
In terms of connectivity, the Eee PC has 1 Mini VGA connector, 2 high speed USB 2.0 ports, 1 RJ-45 LAN connector, Audio i/o jack and multiple card reader. The dimensions of the Eee are 10.2×6.9×1.4 inches and it weighs just 2.8lbs. The model is available in black and blue. It comes preloaded with WinXP Home.
