Trackball mouse: A pointing device

A trackball mouse is basically a pointing device that consist of a ball which held by a socket that contains a sensors used  to detect a rotation of the ball about two axes—like the upside-down mouse with an exposed protruding ball. The user generally rolls the ball o0f the trackball mouse with the thumb, fingers, or the palm of the hand to move a cursor. Large tracker ball mice are common on CAD workstations for easy precision.  However, before the advent of the touchpad, small trackballs mice are highly used on any portable computers, where there may be no desk space which is require to run a mouse. The trackball mouse was invented in the year 1963 and the first and the original trackball mouse is consisting of a Canadian five-pin bowling ball. When the conventional or traditional mice still used a mechanical design along with slotted ‘chopper’ wheels that interrupts a beam of light to measure rotation, here trackball mouse offer an advantage.
                                                     
However, latest version of trackball mouse has an auxiliary device, which is primarily intended for scrolling. Some trackball mouse has a scroll wheel like most mice have, but the most common type that is found in any modern trackball mouse is a scroll ring that spun around the ball.

Lately it is hard to find trackball mouse in the market, only few companies still manufacture trackball mouse. Three most leading companies still manufacture trackball mouse and there products also have popularity in the market.
